Q. What is Poingo™?

Poingo™ is the next generation of interactive books from the makers of Story Reader®. Children ages 3 to 7 will love the adventure of unlocking hidden treasure on every page. Kids touch pictures or text and bring their favorite characters to life with words, sounds and music. With Poingo™, books come alive in three easy steps:

1) Turn “on” Poingo™

2) Point to a word or picture.

3) Experience the magic of favorite Disney® stories come to life.

Q. How do I use Poingo™?

1)      Slide the Off/Low/High switch to turn on Poingo™ and adjust the volume.

2)      First, touch the Poingo™ logo on the title page.

3)      Then, to let Poingo know which book you’d like to explore, touch the story title on that book’s title page to begin.

4)      Explore each page with Poingo™ to hear the story read aloud, enjoy sound effects and music, and find hidden activities.

5)      To exit an activity, touch the background of the story box or follow the activity instructions.

6)      To turn off Poingo, slide the Off/Low/High switch to the Off position.

7)      If Poingo is not in use, it will go to sleep automatically. To wake it up, move the volume control switch from Low to High or vice versa.

8)      Poingo remembers which book you used last. To use a different book, touch the Poingo™ logo and the story title on that book’s title page.

Q. What type of batteries does Poingo™ require?

Poingo™ requires 2 AAA batteries. (UM-4 or LR03)

Q. What is the Poingo™ Content Manager™?

The Poingo™ Content Manager™ allows you to manage the content on your Poingo™, as well as download new content as you purchase additional books.  The Poingo™ Content Manager software is compatible with Mac OS X and Windows Vista/XP/2000.  Download the Poingo™ Content Manager™ now.

Q. What are Poingo’s™ system requirements?

In order to connect Poingo™ to your home computer, your computer must have the following:

  • Processor: 733 MHz
  • Memory: 256MB RAM
  • Hard Drive Space: 200MB

Q. What is the memory capacity for Poingo™?

Poingo™ features 256 megabytes of internal memory capacity that will store more than 50 different books simultaneously. 

Q. Why should I register my Poingo™?

By registering your Poingo™ you will be given the ability to download and utilize the Poingo™ Content Manager™.  Registration is required to receive a warranty replacement for your Poingo™, if needed. You can also choose to receive product alerts and special offers from mypoingo.com via email.

Q. My Poingo™ makes a beeping sound. What does that mean?

Poingo™ may use a beep to alert you of a couple different things.

 If you hear one beep, Poingo™ is warning you that it is about to go to sleep. Poingo™ will go to sleep while it is not being used in order to save battery life. Touch one of the book pages with Poingo™ to keep it from shutting down.

 If you hear two beeps, Poingo™ is alerting you to one of the following:

1)      Is the LED light blinking? If so, the batteries are low and should be replaced.

2)      You may need to let Poingo know which book you are using. Touch the Poingo logo and the story title and the title page to get started.

3)      Poingo may not be loaded with the content you are trying to use. Download the additional content using your Poingo™ Content Manager™.

 To reset Poingo™, use a thin wire to press the recessed Reset button. The recessed Reset button is located on the back of your Poingo™ above the flat portion of the battery cover.

Q. My Poingo™ is not making any sound. What should I do?

Please check the following:

1)      Is the LED light on? If not, please check that Poingo™ is turned on.

2)      If Poingo™ is turned on and the LED light does not come on, try installing new batteries.

3)      If Poingo is not in use, it will go to sleep automatically. To wake it up, move the volume control switch from Low to High or vice versa.

Q. I’ve already registered my Poingo™ online. How do I get the 20 free songs?

A. Touch “Start” and “20 free Poingo™ songs” on the registration card with Poingo™ to get started. Then touch each song icon on the back of the registration card to hear the song.  

 

Warranty Information

Q. Is my product under warranty?

Poingo™ has a warranty that is valid for a period of three months from the original purchase date, under normal use and operation. This warranty does not include books and accessories purchased separately. 

Q. What is the Poingo™ Warranty Policy?

This Publications International, Ltd. product is warranted only to the original purchaser for a period of three months from the original purchase date, under normal use and operation, to be free from defects in workmanship and materials. This warranty is void if the product has been damaged by accident or unreasonable use immersion in water, neglect, abuse, battery leakage or improper installation, improper service, or other causes not arising out of defect in workmanship or materials. If this product does not operate as warranted above, customer's sole remedy for breach of that warranty shall be replacement or repair of the product or part or refund of the purchase price paid, at Publications International Ltd.'s option. To the full extent allowed by law, the foregoing warranties and remedies are exclusive and are in lieu of all other warranties, terms, or conditions of merchantability, fitness of a particular purpose, satisfactory quality, correspondence with description, and non-infringement, all of which are expressly disclaimed. Some countries, states, or provinces do not allow the exclusion or limitation of implied warranties or the limitation of incidental or consequential damage for certain products supplied to consumer or the limitation of liability for personal injury, so the above limitation and exclusions may be limited to their applicable written warranty. During the warranty period, your product will be repaired or replaced at Publications International, Ltd.'s option, as instructed by a Publications International, ltd. Service representative. In the event that your product is replaced, the replacement will be covered under the original warranty or for thirty days, whichever is longer.

Q. How do I submit a warranty registration or claim?

You can submit a warranty registration by completing the online registration or calling 800-595-8484. Should you need to place a warranty claim, you can request a replacement online or by calling 1-800-595-8484. Do not discard of your Poingo™, as you will be required to send in certain elements as a proof of purchase.
