Awesome Product & Gift from AmazonJan 20, 2012
By N. Pilla This is a great gift and lets a preschooler read along with a pen. This frees up parents and encourages reading. I gave this to my 3 year old Grandson and he loves it. I can't say enough good things about it.

"World Traveller & Mother of 4"
We were given the Poingo for Christmas. My daughter didn't really get into using it until she was 2 yrs 7 months old. Before that age, she didn't have the patience to wait for the book to be read or ability to follow the instructions to have the book read. Now, she absolutely LOVES her Poingo! She initiates 'reading' the book herself, can turn on the pen and follow the directions to use the pen on a specific book, waits for the book to be read to her, and even explores the book pages for hidden fun sounds/songs ('Easter eggs'). Some pages even have interactive games that the child can play, with positive reinforcement for correct answers and a simple, 'Let's try again later' when a child continually gives incorrect answers.
Note that there is a new version of Poingo available, and that this is the old model. You must also have a computer and follow the instructions (very easy) to load newly purchased books into the reading pen. The interface is moderately intuitive. The books are not widely available. The original purchase was made at a local chain store, and I purchased additional books online through Amazon. There isn't a huge selection of books, but I think our library of 10 will do just fine because we have many other books that we read together.

My daughter loves the Poingo reader. It's a lot less expensive than other readers, and it has all Disney books. These are a great addition to your Poingo librabry.
